Pandora Releasing Hope from the Casket

In Greek mythology, Pandora was the first woman, created when Zeus decided to give humanity a punishing gift (!). There are parallels with the tale of Eve and the apple. Over time, the story changes, turning Pandora from a deceitful woman into someone whose curiosity leads her to unleash all the evils of the world by opening a casket. In one version, the last spirit to emerge is Hope. I like this last twist - it inspires us never to give up.
